U.S. broiler, egg, turkey exports post gain in January

Exports of U.S. poultry and eggs are off to a strong start to 2021.

U.S. broiler and egg exports through February of this year increased in both volume and value, while turkey exports grew in value, according to new trade data released by USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.

Broiler exports soared 20.5 percent in value due largely to higher export prices, which were up 14.8 percent per metric ton compared to the same period of last year. Egg volume shipments jumped for the first two months this year when compared to the same period a year earlier when volume was low. Egg exports also were boosted by decreased export prices for table eggs and egg products.
