Turkey, broiler exports increased in volume, value in 2019, eggs grew

U.S. turkey and broiler exports increased in both volume and value last year while egg exports grew in volume in 2019, newly released trade data from USDA Foreign Agricultural Service show.

Turkey exports jumped 4.6 percent in volume and 8.8 percent in value in 2019. Broiler exports increased by 0.6 percent in both volume and value. Egg exports (table eggs plus egg products in shell egg equivalent) increased by 2.4 percent in volume. They were down 10.2 percent in value. Broiler exports in 2019 were 3,401,217 metric tons, while export value was $3.442 billion (Figure 1). Some 704,521 tons, or 50.61 percent, were shipped to the top six markets, including Mexico, Hong Kong, Cuba, Taiwan, Angola, and Vietnam.
