Industry leaders meeting to talk HPAI in Washington

USAPEEC President and CEO Greg Tyler traveled to Washington, D.C. this week for a one-day strategy session on HPAI hosted by USDA. The program featured Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) presentations on topics including prevention efforts, response and coordination, resource needs, and wildlife mitigation. Also discussed were opportunities to partner with producers, states, and others to address biosecurity, wild bird threats, and improvements in preparedness and response. Several USAPEEC members also were in attendance, as were representatives from the National Chicken Council, National Turkey Federation, and United Egg Producers.
