Poultry cold chain management seminar conducted in Costa Rica

With sponsorship from United Soybean Board and support from USDA, USAPEEC recently conducted the “Poultry Cold Chain Management and Its Effects on Quality and Safety” seminar in Costa Rica.

Topics included: the handling and storing refrigerated and frozen products (raw and finished); evaluation of the quality of raw material, new and improved freezing and thawing technologies; and the effect of temperature on

meat grinding and its impact on poultry safety and quality. The seminar was aimed at the poultry meat processors industry, importers, retailers, food services, and producers

from Costa Rica and was part of the campaign to increase exports.
