USAPEEC Mexico holds breeder seminar for inspection points staff

USAPEEC Mexico hosted a webinar last week titled “Technical Aspects of Day-old Chicks, Fertile Eggs and Export Protocols from the USA to Mexico,” coordinated by Tannya Yee.

The webinar targeted personnel from the Mexican Office of Animal Health Inspection (OISA) in Mexico. Expert speakers included Alberto Torres of Cobb and Pilar Castaneda of the Mexican Poultry Institute.

The objective was to educate and provide information to all the inspectors at the points of entry regarding the care of these sensitive products. Due to the audience and the number of questions, the webinar was extended an extra hour, an indication of the interest of the 90 attendees. During the question-and-answer section, Castaneda discussed some myths about chicken hormones and correct temperature and handling during an inspection.
