AI lessons learned the topic at Atlanta event

The U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, in conjunction with USAPEEC, the National Chicken Council (NCC), National Turkey Federation (NTF), and United Egg Producers (UEP), hosted the “Avian Influenza Outbreak…Lessons Learned” conference this week in Atlanta to help stakeholders assess actions taken during the current outbreak and prepare for potential future outbreaks.

Topics included biosecurity, indemnity, communications, producers’ experiences during the outbreak (layers, broilers, turkeys), research updates on vaccination, epidemiology of the virus and disease transmission, depopulation and disposal methods, cleaning and disinfections and repopulation, and trade impacts.
