CHAZ WILSON ELECTED NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - (June 9, 2020) - Chaz Wilson, head of international sales for Pilgrim’s USA in Greeley, Colo., has been elected chairman of the board of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) for 2020-21.
Wilson succeeds outgoing Chairman Mark Barrett, vice president of Lamex Foods Inc. He was elected June 9 during USAPEEC’s 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting. Wilson also served as chairman of USAPEEC in 2012/13 and has served on the board of directors since 1998.
As chairman, Wilson will head the board of directors, which sets policy and provides direction to USAPEEC, an organization whose mission is to promote and increase exports of U.S. chicken, turkey, duck, and egg products worldwide.
Said Wilson: “I am very humbled to be able to chair this fine organization for a second time. USAPEEC has and will continue to be a major catalyst for the growth of U.S. poultry and egg exports. These are certainly challenging times, but I and the board have great confidence in the organization. Our industry could not be in better hands than with Jim Sumner and the superlative staff at USAPEEC.”
Newly elected to the USAPEEC Executive Committee at the meeting was Martin Piffaretti, vice president of export sales for Eastern Quality Foods in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Also on the USAPEEC Executive Committee with Wilson and Piffaretti are: Paul Sauder, Sauder’s Eggs, first vice chairman; John Patchoski, Koch Foods, second vice chairman; Joel Coleman, Butterball, secretary-treasurer; Thomas Isaf, Interra International, member-at-large; Jim Henderson, NOCS, associate member-at-large; Mike Beard, Indiana Corn Marketing Council, commodity member at large; and Barrett, past chairman.
Oleg Kovalev, of Mountaire Farms, will continue as chairman of USAPEEC’s Market Advisory Panel and will serve on the board and have a seat on the Executive Committee.
Newly elected to the USAPEEC Board of Directors were: Fernando Amorim, vice-president of international sales, Gerber-Agri International; Kathy Cline, traffic manager/commodity sales, Cooper Farms; Ernie Ferguson, vice president of sales and marketing, MTC Logistics; Haden Slain, general manager, Poseidon Forwarding; Emily Metz, president/CEO, American Egg Board.
